Initial strategy of an assistive technology for rehabilitation and monitoring of elderly patients

This article presents an initial assistive technology strategy for the rehabilitation and monitoring of elderly patients, focused on lower limb muscle recovery, from a condition low gait stability to recovery without use crutches. The project is in progress, its first module, one, measures flexion extension limbs degrees sends data database analysis by physiotherapist. second module consists design support telephone integrated crutch, facilitate integration with existing applications, also containing embedded system module. When patient already crutches, cell phone coupled are used, which send signals case falls. results still partial isolated parts project, so that, after completion modules, it will be possible integrate quantitatively analyze results. voltage source showed current output that was maintained despite load drop. movement through camera recognized knee movement. architecture managed include involving computer graphics, screens concern human-computer interface. crutch underwent usability tests proved basic mechanical resistance not present elementary difficulties sustaining person cellular device.
